She married MARION LAFAYETTE ELLINGTON Abt. 1872, son of WILLIAM ELLINGTON and MARY FAUCETT. He was born September 18, 1851, and died October 30, 1938 in Autauga County, Alabama.

A note from Calvin Milford...a great-grandson of James Calvin Arnett, told me that Cordelia was known as "Aunt Delie. James
Calvin Arnett was a brother of hers.

A note from Calvin Milford, Cordelia's great grandnephew (great-grandson of James Calvin Arnett, brother of Cordelia..Marion's

SALEM PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, Near Welch, Chambers County, Alabama

The Salem Primitive Baptist Church is no longer in existence.  The congregation disbanded in
the early 1900's, and joined neighboring churches at Mt. Pisgah and Lanett.  The cemetery is
about 100 feet from a dirt road leading to the former site of the church building.  It is
surrounded by a fence and is fairly-well maintained, although many of the markers are illegible
after years of exposure to the elements.

ARNETT, Argent Veal - (29 Nov 1831, Hancock County, GA - 4 Feb 1890), daughter of James H. Veal
& Margaret E. Miller, wife of Richmond A. Arnett.  She came to Chambers County with her
grandfather William Miller in 1848, and joined this congregation in 1849.

ARNETT, Delila A. McDonald - (6 Oct 1861 - 29 Jul 1884), daughter of A.L. & Sarah Elizabeth
McDonald, wife of John M. Arnett.  Baptized here by Rev. J.W.H. Clyett on the second Sunday in
October, 1882.

Jesse died near Rock Mills, Ala. in the Bacon Level Community of
Randolph Co, Ala. and is burried in the Salem Primative Baptist
Church Cemetery.

Believed father of Jesse was Peter Arnett.
(Owned lands situated and connected in Anson county.)
  Possible father of Peter was a William Arnett.

Some of the Arnetts in North Carolina did go to Screven County, Ga.
(Possibly found as South Carolina in your histories, or listings.)
Beleived those Arnetts are connected, but incomplete and unknown.

Peter Arnett of Anson Co. was married to an Ann ??? Ann Arnett lived
in Anson Co. after (son) Jesse left there.

Peter Arnett died (approximation) Anson Co.

Copy of deed of Ann Arnett 1/4/1849 to Joseph Arnett refers to division of lands
of Peter Arnett dec'd, and mentions a Widow's lot.

twp. Robert J. Arnot is buried in the Croswell Cemetery, Croswell, Michigan; it is my belief that John B.
Arnot is also buried there, although I have no proof at this time.
